It is entombed within a stubborn crust, beyond a pale mantle
Of infamous density and mettle, a thunderous meteor can only hope to scratch.
Therein rests a soft dim glow, unaware of the fort that encases
And repels the most valiant of incursions.
Yet even the most mulish fort
Is designed with inevitable weakness
A tenacious and skilled hand can yet breach, fluid and unassuming.
Navigating porous earth, its seeps through fault lines,
Advancing intuitively towards the dull warmth,
And with a flourishing kiss sets the core aflame
A swirling, incinerating vigour;
A truly tantalising marvel,
Melting away the suffocating crypt
Into a boiling, liquid mosaic
That eddies breathless excitement to the fingers’ tips,
Shaking the heart adrift from its cynical mass.
This tectonic dance
Animates the oceanic depths of raw, untamed potential.
Naturally, it finds its rhythm inland, morphing
From galloping waterfalls to restful cascades
Following veins that sculpt the flow to a steadying pulse,
Fjords calloused through patience and quiet rehearsal.
The steady flow amasses into a bountiful loch,
Nourishing reeds and web-footed friends.
A cradling forest enwraps the calm,
Engaged in boundless, creative inquiry.
Roots trade dilemmas and seek answers from the water,
Through transpiration, ideas are pulled forth
And shared into the humid canopy;
A mist of mutual love, for profound, passionate discourse.
A scenic ecosystem blooms from the fertile patchwork of the loch,
A playful interplay bustles and bristles involuntarily,
Teeming with unconscious understanding.
It may peacefully gaze at the shroud of the night sky
Sometimes reflecting on the brilliant furnace that bore it
And the deft hand that ignited it.
…
There are worlds asleep within this room;
One can guide them into orbit
But the rest is up to you.
